A Landscape Photography Exhibit by Melvin Morales
Jun 16 – Sep 1, 2026
Vistas: Beauty of the Desert
A collection of landscape photographs captured across Nevada, highlighting the scale, diversity, and richness of the natural environment. The state reveals a landscape far more varied and colorful than commonly imagined.
The photographs emphasize presence within the landscape. Each image captures a moment shaped by stillness and observation, allowing space for reflection and an awareness of detail and scale. In this terrain, change happens gradually and the land bears marks of its history. The experience of being there becomes as important as the place itself.
Presented as large format photographs with a minimalist aesthetic, the exhibition creates space for viewers to pause and consider their relationship with the land. The work encourages an appreciation for the enduring nature of Nevada's landscapes, where it reveals itself to you and invites you to explore more.

Celebrating America's 250th Anniversary
In 2026, the United States celebrates its Semiquincentennial — the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This historic milestone marks a moment of national reflection, unity, and appreciation for the land we call home.
It is an honor to have Vistas: Beauty of the Desert coincide with this celebration. The exhibit opens on June 16 and runs through September 1, 2026 — spanning July 4th, the heart of the anniversary. Through these landscape photographs of Nevada, I hope to contribute to a deeper appreciation of the natural beauty that defines the American West.
Nevada's open terrain, vast deserts, and rugged mountains are part of the story of this nation. As we mark 250 years, these landscapes remind us of what has always been here — enduring, quiet, and waiting to be explored.
